Painting Wire Mesh Tree

Once the tree was finished I painted it and then tied the small slip knot to the tree, then I also painted that to make it stay straight and to make it look better. Once this was done I used a blood like paint to go over part of the tree and the noose to make it look like a hangman’s tree.

While painting the tree I used brown paint mixed with a small amount of red so that it gave it a dark look, once it was dried I then got some red paint and dry brushed over it with red to give it a blood look on the sides to make it appear more like a hangman’s tree.

I think that the painting could have been better, the tree was too red when it dried, and also the noose is a strange colour because of the lack of white paint to make it lighter.

For Elements, I have used 

Colour, to add the effects of a dark twisted tree, I did this with values by mixing brown with black and red, and intensity by adding a little black to brown so it gave it a dark feel.

Texture, to give it a rough rugged feel so that it feels closer to a thorny dark dead tree, I a also used visual texture so that parts of the tree, like the noose look rough and used.
