Wire Mesh Tree

After working with some wire mesh I started to bend it into a tree, I used masking tape to hold some of it together before I used plaster bandage to cover it up and make it look better, to use the plaster bandage I cut a roll of bandage into strips, and then after cutting a large pile I got a bucket of water and then put a strip threw it to get it to start to react, and wrapped it around the parts of the wire tree to cover up the wire and hold it all together.

Once the tree had dried, it was almost ready to painting, I then took some string and make it look as best as small rope, I then tied a very small hangman’s knot to add a dark twist to the tree.

Health And Safety

For health and safety I used protective goggles and Kevlar gloves to cut the wire, so that it wouldn't stab me with the sharp cut side, and I wouldn't accidently cut myself, I used goggles so that any potential flying metal from cutting the wire wouldn't be able to hit me in the eyes.

I also only cut the plaster bandage instead of ripping it, to reduce the amount of plaster dust in the air, as breathing in plaster could potentially be fatal, I also did an allergy test to make sure I wasn't allergic to the plaster.

I think that I could have made the tree better if I didn't use the masking tape because it makes large bumps because of how much was needed to hold the wire in place, I think it would have been better to just hold the wire to it and plaster it on.
